In the U.S. over 80% of adults actively use the internet of which Google receives over two thirds of all search engine traffic. This essentially means that approximately 7 out of 10 consumers in your area are going to Google to find the services you offer. Of the remaining search engines, Yahoo receives approximately 16.5%, Bing 11.5% with Ask and AOL filling in the remainder with 3.6% and 2.1% respectively.
Over the last two years Facebook has emerged as the most prominent of social media outlets outpacing its competition by leaps and bounds. In fact, Facebook has been recognized as the most visited website in 2010. This is quite an achievement and it's definitely a tremendous resource that offers many opportunities for the small business owner.
